• Course Description/Length/Prerequisites

This comprehensive first aid certification course provides basic first aid knowledge to care for adults, children and infants in case of an emergency. Upon successful completion, participants receive a national WorkSafe BC first aid certificate (Occupational First Aid level 1) valid for 3 years.

This one day course is delivered on-site in a classroom, instructor-led format. Prerequisites include:

Upon completion of this hands-on course, students will be able to:

  • Identify and perform appropriate critical interventions of the airway with C-spine control for conscious patients and patients with a decreased level of consciousness.
  • Identify respiratory emergencies and perform appropriate critical interventions
  • Identify circulatory emergencies and perform appropriate critical interventions
  • Identify and perform appropriate interventions for minor soft tissue injuries
